Discord Launches Checkpoint 2025: Here’s How to See Your Year in Review

Published on December 5, 2025 by susiemccoy

Discord has rolled out its very first yearly recap feature. On 4 December, the platform launched Checkpoint, letting users see in detail what they had been doing over the course of 2025. If you’ve been wondering how much time you’ve spent in voice channels or which server you’ve been glued to throughout the year, this Discord Wrapped feature provides the answers.

Not all users are seeing the rollout yet, so if you don’t see it now, just wait a day or two.

What Your Discord Checkpoint 2025 Shows

Your recap contains your message counts, voice channel hours, top servers, and who you talked to the most. You’ll also see your five most-played games and how they rank against the games in Discord’s global leaderboard.

Discord tells you the emoji reactions you used the most. Red Heart was the platform-wide winner in 2025, with sobbing faces and tears of joy following. The fire emoji appeared in the top five for the first time.

Upon taking a look at your stats, you will receive one of ten different Checkpoint cards for you to flaunt, plus an avatar decoration you can use until 15 January 2026.

How to See Discord Wrapped

First, update Discord to the latest version.

On a desktop, look for a small flag icon in the top right corner. Click it to open your Checkpoint.

On mobile, tap the “You” tab at the bottom right. You should see a Checkpoint banner there. Tap it to view your recap.

Why Your Recap Might Not Appear

Three main reasons could explain a missing Discord Wrapped 2025.

You might not have been active enough this year. Discord needs sufficient data to create meaningful stats. Casual users who rarely log in might not have enough activity to summarise.

The bigger issue is privacy settings. You need “Use data to personalise my Discord experience” enabled in your settings, and it had to be on during 2024. Discord only creates Checkpoints for users who opted in throughout the year. Turning it on now won’t give you a 2024 recap, but it will let you get one next year.

Check this by going to User Settings, then Privacy and Safety. Find the data personalisation toggle and switch it on if you want next year’s recap.

The rollout is also staggered. Mobile users got access later than desktop users. Some regions are still waiting. If you qualify but your Checkpoint isn’t showing yet, please check back in a day or two.

Discord experienced bugs on the mobile version of the app at launch, but managed to address most issues within 48 hours. Close the app down completely and then reopen it. You can also check it on a desktop or through Discord in a web browser.

Global Numbers Show Discord’s Reach

In 2025, users sent some 744 billion messages and reactions. That’s a lot of conversation.

League of Legends remained the site’s most played game for the 16th year in a row. The most popular indie game was crowned R.E.P.O. Other top games included Minecraft, Genshin Impact, and Marvel Rivals.

Discord now has more than 200 million monthly active users globally.

Sharing Your Stats

You can share a formatted summary directly in Discord chat using the share button on your summary page. Screenshots work too if you want to post on other platforms.

But if your stats reveal you spent way too much time online this year, keep it private. Only you can see your Checkpoint unless you choose to share it.

The Privacy Debate

The data personalisation requirement has caused some discussion. Some users wish Discord had warned them at the start of 2024 that they’d need the setting enabled. Others argue that year-end recaps inherently need long-term data collection, and respecting privacy means not creating reports for users who opted out.

Checkpoint marks Discord’s 10th anniversary, joining similar features from Spotify, YouTube, and Twitch. You can view your recap through 15 January 2026.

Discord hasn’t said if Checkpoint will return next year, but given how popular these features are on other platforms, it seems likely.
