Katie Dadzie: From Lingerie Boss to DIY SOS Star’s Wife

Published on October 6, 2025 by Henry Ashford

My sister called me last night in quite a state about something she’d spotted on Instagram. “That Nick Knowles’ wife has been rushed back to hospital!” I had to Google it since I’d been oblivious to the entire saga. And, well, it turns out Katie Dadzie underwent emergency surgery over the weekend after six surgeons worked to correct complications from a hysterectomy. Six surgeons. That’s not a small matter, is it?

The thing is, I kind of recall having seen their wedding photos in June. Massive estate in Essex; it must have cost more than my car. Now, some four months later, she’s dealing with ruptured stitches and internal bleeding. Makes my bad week at work seem pretty trivial, honestly.

But here’s what got me thinking. Everyone’s talking about her being Nick Knowles’ wife, but before that wedding, Katie Dadzie was running her own business and doing her own thing. That’s the bit that’s actually interesting.

Running a Lingerie Brand That Made Her Husband Uncomfortable

Katie started Boa Boa back in 2022. It isn’t a clothing brand; it’s more of a lingerie and toy company – you know, intimate stuff for women who want something high-quality that won’t require them to hand over the rent money for that month. And the Katie Dadzie company is not some hobby business, by the way. She has registered it as a limited company, models her own designs, and uses her Katie Dadzie Instagram account (about 103,000 followers last time I checked) as her main shopfront.

Nick wasn’t exactly excited when she described to him the business idea. The adult toys component had him squirming some. We can’t exactly blame the guy, as it’s not typical table talk for Sunday lunch with your family. But she did it anyway, explained what she was attempting to do, and he eventually warmed to the idea. That’s proper confidence, that is. Starting something your partner’s not keen on takes some bottle.

I’ve checked the prices on her site. They’re affordable too, a fairly rare thing when most lingerie brands charge you fifty quid for three inches of lace. How successful that was on a financial level is tougher to tell, as companies generally don’t shout from the rooftops about their turnover, unless it’s huge. But she’s still going, which suggests it’s working well enough.

The 28-Year Age Gap Nobody Asked About

Katie’s 34. Nick’s 62. That’s 28 years between them, which apparently means everyone with an internet connection gets to have an opinion. The comments on their posts are wild. Half the people think it’s sweet; the other half reckon he’s having a midlife crisis.

They met through their kids, though. Both have children from previous relationships, and the youngest ones knew each other. That’s about as normal as you can get, meeting through the school run or kids’ activities or whatever. Not exactly scandalous, is it?

What’s proper unusual is they didn’t even live together before getting married. He had his place; she had hers. They’d make time to see each other properly instead of just existing in the same house and calling it a relationship. My mate Sarah lives with her boyfriend and reckons they barely talk some weeks because they assume they’ll “catch up later.” Maybe Nick and Katie are onto something.

That Six-Figure Wedding at Braxted Park

On the seventh of June this year, they got married at Braxted Park Estate in Essex. Reports say they spent six figures on it. I don’t even want to think about what six figures buys you at a wedding. My cousin got married last year and nearly had a breakdown over the cost of chair covers. Chair covers! And these were the cheap ones.

Katie wore something described as “unconventional,” which I’m taking to mean it wasn’t a standard white dress situation. The guest list included loads of Strictly Come Dancing people; Nick had competed on the show recently, and from the photos I’ve seen, it looked absolutely massive. Big marquee, fancy flowers, the works.

Four months later, she’s in hospital. That’s sobering, isn’t it? You spend all that money on one perfect day, then real life comes along and reminds you it doesn’t care about your Instagram-worthy moments.

The Stuff We Don’t Actually Know

Right, so here’s where I have to be honest. Information about Katie Dadzie parents just isn’t out there. I’ve looked. Her Katie Dadzie nationality hasn’t been publicly discussed much either, though Dadzie is a Ghanaian surname. There’s a well-known British-Ghanaian writer called Stella Dadzie, but I can’t find anything saying they’re related.

The Katie Dadzie kids situation is similar. She’s got at least one child from before which is confirmed, but beyond that, she keeps her personal life fairly locked down. Good for her, really. Social media’s invasive enough without broadcasting every detail about your children.

As for Katie Dadzie net worth, your guess is as good as mine. Boa Boa is registered as a limited company, but the actual financials aren’t public. She’s clearly making money from the business and probably gets bits from Instagram partnerships. Chuck in Nick’s earnings from years of telly work and they’re sorted financially. Let’s put it that way.

What’s Happening Right Now With Her Health

This is why she’s back in the news. Katie had a hysterectomy, which is major surgery on its own. Then her cervix stitches ruptured. The pain must’ve been horrific. She ended up needing emergency surgery with six different surgeons working on her, dealing with internal bleeding and complications that could’ve been really dangerous.

Nick posted about it over the weekend, clearly terrified. They’ve been married less than four months. Instead of enjoying being newlyweds, she’s in the hospital dealing with something genuinely life-threatening. That’s rough.

Why She’s Different From Most “Celebrity Wives”

The whole Katie Dadzie Nick Knowles thing only became a headline after she’d already built her business. She wasn’t trying to become famous by dating someone on telly. She had her own income, her own social media following, and her own life. Then she happened to fall for someone who’s been a household name for years.

That’s backwards from how these stories usually go. Normally, it’s someone famous dating someone who’s desperate to be famous. This feels like two people who were fine on their own and then decided being together was better.

She’s also not milking the celebrity connection for everything it’s worth. Her Instagram is mostly business content with bits of personal stuff. She’s not doing magazine shoots every week or trying to get on reality shows. Given how easy it would be to monetise being married to Nick Knowles, that shows some restraint.

Where We Are Now

Katie’s recovering from emergency surgery whilst trying to run a business, be a wife, and raise her kid. That’s an enormous amount to handle. The medical complications just make everything ten times harder.

Will people keep banging on about their age gap? Absolutely. Will her business keep growing? Probably, if she’s got the energy for it once she’s recovered. Will she keep being framed as “Nick Knowles’ wife” in headlines? Almost certainly, even though she’s more than that.

Katie Dadzie built something before the wedding, and she’ll probably build more after she’s recovered. Right now though, she’s just trying to get through a serious health crisis. That’s hard enough without thousands of strangers having opinions about it online. But that’s life when you marry someone famous, I suppose. Privacy becomes optional.
