Noel Edmonds Net Worth: Inside His £83 Million Fortune

Published on December 23, 2025 by Henry Ashford

Right. Let’s talk about Noel Edmonds net worth because it’s quite a story.

The bloke who gave us Mr. Blobby and made opening boxes seem thrilling for over a decade is sitting on roughly £83 million. Some sources say it’s closer to $100 million, which works out about the same. Either way, he’s minted.

But here’s what makes his financial journey interesting. It’s not just about the money he earned. It’s about losing millions through fraud, clawing it back through sheer bloody-mindedness, and then spending $30 million on basically an entire town in New Zealand. Because why wouldn’t you?

The Man Behind the Beard

Noel Ernest Edmonds was born on 22 December 1948 in Ilford, Essex and will celebrate his birthday this month (he’ll be 77). His dad was a headmaster, and his mum an art teacher. He got offered a place at the University of Surrey but said no thanks, I’m off to do radio instead.

Decent call, as it happens.

He began at Radio Luxembourg in 1968 and then moved to BBC Radio 1 where he hosted the breakfast show from 1973 to 1978. Then came telly. Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, Top of the Pops, Telly Addicts and his defining programme for years to come Noel’s House Party. That show, which peaked at 15 million viewers, aired from 1991 to 1999.

Next was Deal or No Deal on Channel 4 from 2005 to 2016. Over 3,000 episodes of people opening boxes while Noel dispensed pseudo-spiritual wisdom about the cosmos and “the Banker.” It was oddly compelling telly, and it made him millions.

In 2018, he appeared on I’m a Celebrity, earning a record £600,000 appearance fee. He was first in, first out. Lasted nine days before getting voted off.

How He Actually Made His Money

Noel Edmonds net worth didn’t come from one source. It’s decades of television contracts, production deals, property investments, and business ventures.

Deal or No Deal alone reportedly earned him £3 million in 2006. His production company, Unique Group, founded in 1985, produced shows and media content for years. He’s invested in property both in the UK and abroad. At various points, he owned estates in Devon and Somerset.

He’s also dabbled in alternative energy through the Renewable Energy Foundation, though his stance against wind farms has sparked debate. And he famously launched Classic Riviera in 2014, a car company making Jaguar SS100 replicas called the LaRiviera. That venture was cut short by the fraud that nearly destroyed him financially.

The Banking Scandal That Nearly Broke Him

In 2005, everything went sideways. Edmonds’ Unique Group went into receivership with £3 million in debts. He later said corrupt HBOS bankers deliberately collapsed his businesses to seize assets. His bank manager and four others went to prison for a combined 50 years.

Edmonds attempted suicide that year. He’s spoken about it publicly since. The ordeal lasted years while he fought to get compensation for his losses.

Eventually, he won. Lloyds Banking Group paid out a settlement. The exact amount isn’t public, but it was substantial enough to rebuild his fortune.

To mark his recovery, he commissioned a massive metal knight statue from Weta Workshop (the people who did Lord of the Rings). He calls it Guardian. It stands on his New Zealand estate as a permanent reminder that he made it through his darkest time.

“When I win my battle to get my losses back, I’m gonna get the great Weta studios to build me a statue,” he told his wife at the time.

Meet Noel Edmonds Wife: Liz Davies

Noel Edmonds Wife

Noel Edmonds wife is called Elizabeth Davies, or Liz for short. She is 55 and, with it, 21 years younger than Noel. They were married in July 2009 in the Cotswolds at a 17th-century manor house.

How old is Noel Edmonds’ wife? She was born in roughly 1970 and is now 55. They first met on the set of Deal or No Deal in 2006. Liz was a makeup artist. They both have said that it was love at first sight. They can even remember the precise moment they met: 11:06 am. The clocks in their house keep that time.

Liz was married when they met, to cameraman Nathan Ridler. She has two sons from that marriage, including Harrison, to whom Noel is now stepfather to.

Noel calls Liz his “earth angel” and credits her with supporting him through the banking fraud nightmare. She helped design the Guardian statue’s shield, making it their shared story of fighting back.

This is Noel’s third marriage. His first wife was Gillian Slater (1971 to 1982). His second wife was Helen Soby (1986 to 2005), with whom he has four daughters.

Noel Edmonds’ Daughters and Family

Noel Edmonds children include four daughters from his second marriage to Helen Soby – Charlotte (reportedly the daughter of Helen’s former partner who was adopted by Noel), Lorna Edmonds, Olivia and Alice.

Noel Edmonds daughters has largely avoided the limelight. The family members have kept much of their personal lives private, although Noel has shared that they’ve always stood by him throughout his ups and downs.

He is also the stepfather to Liz’s two sons from her first marriage.

What is Noel Edmonds Doing Now: The New Zealand Adventure

What is Noel Edmonds doing now? Trying to maintain an 800-acre estate in Ngātīmoti, South Island, New Zealand, that’s what.

He and Liz moved there in 2019, though they had been visiting since 2018. They spent $30 million buying 12 properties in the area, including a vineyard, pub (called The Bugger Inn), cafe, wellness centre, general store, and coffee shack. The whole operation is called River Haven.

It has been likened to Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm. There’s even a three-part ITV series about it, titled Noel Edmonds’ Kiwi Adventure and broadcast in June 2025.

But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. In the show, Noel admits he’s “haemorrhaging money” because New Zealand weather directly impacts business. Rainy days mean no customers. Frost threatens the vineyard. In June 2025, devastating floods damaged the wellness centre, destroying three years of work in hours.

There’s also been local tension. Some residents feel he’s come in “like the lord of the manor,” buying up properties and changing things. Others reckon River Haven is brilliant for the local economy.

In 2024, 17 staff were reportedly sacked with one day’s notice when the vineyard temporarily closed. Edmonds has disputed claims about how this was handled.

Despite the challenges, he and Liz are committed. They’ve created an “energy garden” where they use sound frequency treatments to encourage plant growth. There’s a crystal bed in the wellness space. It’s very Noel.

“We’re not here to take,” he said. “We want to make a difference.”

The Noel Edmonds Car Collection Legacy

Before New Zealand consumed his time, Noel was properly into cars. His Noel Edmonds car collection has included some stunners over the years.

Most famously, he owned two Ford GT40s. One was P1072, which he bought around 1974 for roughly £10,000 and sold in 1983 after it had appreciated to about £70,000. The other was P1014.

He did confess to having driven it at 186 mph on the Tring bypass at 4.30 in the morning. Allegedly stark naked, according to some reports; not so sure about that, though that might be tabloid embellishment.

Jeremy Clarkson was too tall to get into the GT40, so Noel tested it on Top Gear instead in the 1990s. He has also owned a Jaguar E-Type (registration number JAG 407, which he bought in 1998 and sold in 2001), as well as a Routemaster bus.

At one point, he entered a team in the 1997 Le Mans 24-hour race, with Clarkson on his star team. The whole thing was documented in a BBC series called Noel’s Le Mans Dream.

His car passion led him to launch Classic Riviera in 2014, but that dream died with the banking fraud.

Where the Fortune Stands Now

So back to Noel Edmonds net worth. In 2025, he’s worth roughly £83 million.

That includes property holdings in New Zealand, residual income from decades of television work, and whatever investments he’s made since recovering from the banking scandal.

The River Haven venture is costing him money at the moment. He’s admitted that breaking even would be “great” after a season. But he’s still got plenty in reserve.

He’s one of the wealthiest people ever to appear on I’m a Celebrity, and certainly one of the richest former BBC presenters around.

The Bloke Who Refuses to Fade Away

Noel could have stepped out of the game comfortably years ago. Bought a lovely villa in someplace warm, played some golf, and had fun with the grandkids. Instead, at 76, he is fighting New Zealand floods, local politics, frost damage and the financial hurdles of keeping a hospitality business running 11,000 miles away from where he made his name.

That Guardian statue that towers over his compound?  It’s kneeling in prayer, not defeat. That’s the whole point. He’s not done yet. Love him or consider him a little weird, but you can’t call his life dull. And you definitely can’t say he’s broke.
